Toni's Leadership Plan as Chair, National Finance Committee

My plan is anchored in the principles of T+O+N+I: Trusted Leadership, Objective Decisions, Nimble Minded, and Integrity Always.

As Chair of the National Finance Committee, my leadership will be rooted in the principles of Trusted Leadership, Objective Decision-Making, a Nimble Mind, and Integrity Always. This framework will guide our financial stewardship, ensuring transparency, sustainability, and strategic growth for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

T+O+N+I Key Objectives

I. Fiscal Management

  1. Finalize the review process to align the fiscal year with the chapter’s programmatic year, thereby improving budget planning and execution.
  2. Establish a workgroup to research and provide recommendations for a Life Membership Plan.
  3. Review the current implementation of the Annual Financial Report (AFR) and assess future requirements for accuracy, efficiency, and usability.
  4. Engage with chapters across the Sorority, focusing on collegiate members and chapter advisors.

II. Leverage Technology to Enhance Efficiency and Accessibility

  1. Define and implement additional National Finance Committee (NFC) reports that proactively support financial compliance and accountability at the corporate and chapter levels.
  2. Provide recommendations to enhance the Member-at-Large dues payment process, focusing on ease of use and timely processing.
  3. Research and propose recommendations to enable members to pay national and local dues through National Headquarters, ensuring integration, security, and convenience.

III. National Finance Committee Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Conduct a comprehensive review and assessment of the existing roles and responsibilities of NFC members in supporting National Headquarters and chapter fiscal officers.
  2. Develop recommendations to align these roles with the organization’s evolving needs and enhance the strategic financial guidance for chapter fiscal officers.
